Adorable.   This was the toughest class to judge, so many great photos.  What makes this one the winner is pose of goat and exhibitor.  Exposure is right, sharpness and quality of photo is good.  Both subjects are relaxed.  To improve this photo reposition subjects away from sun glare on the ground. Composition is good. Goat’s pose is perfect, exhibitors pose is gracious.  I would like to see lighter hands on the goat for a more relaxed expression. Nice pose on both subjects.  The brush is distracting.  Bottom corner of photo item distracts (post edit cloning would greatly improve this photo).  I would have the exhibitor toss the brush just before photo was taken.

Nice photo. Good exposure and color.  I would have liked to see a  sharper image. Expression of exhibitor is priceless. Timing of photo (goats expression – blur).  This is the moment when you want to hold your shutter button down for multiple shots to capture the goat expression just right.  Camera setting are off a bit (aperture, iso, shutter) causing slight overexposure of skin tone. Cute photo.  I would like to see the eyes open.  Orange buckets in background are distracting, glare on ground distracting.   If the photographer positioned themselves better (stepping to the left & dropping down to their  knee or squatting), this would improve the photo greatly. Cute photo. Composition is weak (cannot see the other goat).  Light glare on ground is distracting, reposition of subjects or photographer would help improve this photo.

Good composition.  I would like to see more light in the photo (underexposed).  Lighter in the hands with the exhibitor.  I would have liked to see him drop his leash hand, it may soften the expression on the goat’s face. Nice pose.  Background has distraction.  Watch for background clutter and people activity.  Move your subjects to a better location.  Slightly underexposed, contrast off, (can’t see goat’s eye etc).

Landscape
Focus is on scenery around a farm or ranch.

I chose this photo because of the capture of lighting in the background. Time of day can be tough to shoot. Exposure and lighting just right considering what the photographer had to work with.  To improve:   Hold the  camera straight so that the horizon is level.  Nice photo. I would like to see a little more light so the horses stand out and don’t get lost in the background.  Try holding your camera a tad bit straighter.  Post edit straightening, adjustment of exposure.  and cropping out the bottom to bring more focus in on the horses and barn would bring this photo alive.

Nice color, lighting,  and expression captured in this photo.  Next time try and capture the front or sides of your subject for a better presentation of your subject. To improve: if the photographer stepped to the left more, would improve this photo greatly.

People
Focus is on FGG exhibitor and/or family, friends, other exhibitors, etc., who are involved
in activities on the farm or at an FGG event.

Great representation of human interest.  This one reflects the subject focus of this category (the action and behind the scenes activity, involvement in FGG).   Expression captured in both subjects.  Exposure and light perfect. I like the angle.  Well done.  To improve:  little cropping on top and bottom. Very cute shot.  Perfect color and capture of expression. Nice goat selfie.  Very cute. I would have loved to see a little more of the girl’s face and a different angle to show that kiss so that we can feel the emotion.  To improve:  crop out goat’s shoulder and top of photo.

What makes this one a winner is that it reflects farm activity, good capture of the goat’s  expression, and exposure is well balanced considering the background brightness.   I would like to see some cropping on top (less clutter).  A little Crop on the bottom would really make the goat stand out more. Next time zoom in more on your subject.  Very cute photo.  Keep up the good work! This photo is adorable.  If the top were cropped out a bit, the focus would be brought to the goats watching the grand entry which would tell the story better.  Excellent photo for the age of the photographer.  I would have loved to place this photo higher.  Photographer has talent!  Keep taking photos.  I like your work. Exposure is off a little, some blur distraction. I would have liked to see a tighter (zoomed in) on the subject.  Post edit exposure balance and cropping would help this photo shine.

What makes this one a winner is the exposure is excellent (richness of color), sharpness is precise and you caught that cute expression. Worthy of being in a calendar.  To improve: try cropping out or cloning out  any distractions (top pipe corral). Great shot, with zooming in to frame just the tree, would make this photo a winner! Keep up the good work, you have a great eye for photography. Nice angle.  Good capture.  Makes this one stand out.  Dramatic.

The subject is excellent.  Makes you wonder where the superhero is and what happened in battle. This photo is a good candidate for editing.  Make it textured and grunge it out..  Blue on the left is distracting.  Try to crop or clone out distraction from the subject.  I add a little vignette to these kind of photos makes them pop.  I like the lighting. Hard to tell what the subject is, try zooming in more on your subject.

Cool shot.  I like the headphones.  Would have loved to see the goats eyes and head up.  Photo over exposed due to shooting in the sun.  I like to see more richness in the coat and the true color.  Exposure washes out the goat’s color.

This was a tough category to judge.  What makes this photo a winner is the capture of this teams expression.  Lighting and exposure is almost perfect.  It shows anticipation.  Love it.  There is some grain and blur.  I cannot offer suggestions on improvement because I don’t know your camera or settings. Off the top of my head, make sure camera is clean, exhale when you press your shutter button, helps with any blur caused by handshake.  Photographer has talent, keep up the photography! Nice clean photo.  I would have loved to see a little more front angle of your subjects.  Exposure is a bit high causing distraction of your subject from the background.  (Washes out your exhibitor).
